Moving Tips
Pack a suitcase as if you were going on vacation for a week. Include
medications, changes of clothing, etc. that you might need immediately.
Pack bed linens in dresser drawer.
 Survivor's box: To include things you might need access to
immediately:
- Medical information, back up medications, etc.
- Telephone unit
- Waste basket
- Box of tissue
- Paper towels
- Toilet paper
- Bath towels
- Soap
- Kitchen towels
- Small first aid kit
- Scissors
- Paper and pen
- Sticky notes
- Silverware
- Small paper plates, and glasses
- Tall kitchen plastic bags, zip lock and paper bags
- Sponge and cleaning liquid
- Address book and Pacific Bell phone book from home.
Portable File box: To contain information on the following:
- Paperwork regarding move, and sale of house
- Bank accounts and extra checks
- Loan & pension information
- Investments and real estate data
- Life insurance policies
- Advisors: Attorney, & Executor or Successor Trustee
- Insurance Agent and Accountant
- Current tax year information
- Safe deposit box -- location and access information
- Legal paperwork and armed services discharge papers
- Social Security information
